Website Development FAQs
Are you a professional web developer?
No. I likely won’t be able to do anything too complicated with your website, but I can design and build a clean, simple site.
Do I pay upfront or at the end?
At the end. We want you to be happy with the job Storyhound did, so we don’t mind being paid at the end of a job well done.
What website do you use to build?
Most of our experience is in WordPress, but we can also build in Squarespace or Wix.
Who owns the website login?
Everything will be done in your name and your account. We want you to feel like you have total control over the website, and we’ll show you how to do basic things like changing your password, uploading a blog post, etc.
How long would it take to build?
Depending on our workload and the number of pages on your site, it will probably take between 3-4 weeks.
Will people be able to buy books directly on my site?
Likely no. Adding e-commerce is a whole thing, so we recommend buttons that send people to Amazon or whatever site customers would order.
I’m in the Chicago area. Are you willing to meet in person to walk through major milestones?
Absolutely. I understand not everybody is super tech-savvy, so I’m more than happy to meet and walk through major steps in the process in person.
I’m not in the Chicago area. How would we meet?
Unless you’re up for paying for my travel and lodging, we’d either do it through a video conference of your choice (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) or even through an old-school phone call.
