KDP Formatting

We take the most frustrating and time-consuming part of KDP publishing off your hands: formatting your manuscript.

How It Works

Step 1: Schedule a free consultation by clicking the button above, fill out your information, and Storyhound will reach out to request your manuscript and a time to meet (either virtually or in the Chicago area).

Step 2: We’ll talk through your project, including your wants, price, and timeline. (Note: Price could depend on many factors, but will likely be in the $150-400 range).

Step 3: Upon agreement, Storyhound will format your manuscript and provide a detailed list of what information you will need when it comes time to publish.

Step 4: When the manuscript is finished, Storyhound will meet with you and walk through you adding everything in KDP.

(Note: Storyhound walks you through this because we want it to be on your Amazon account so you have more control.)

Step 5: Most likely, the first step will be to order a “preview copy” of the book so you can see a hard copy before you publish. It usually takes a few days to arrive.

Step 6: Any adjustments will be made, then Storyhound will walk you through the actual publishing of your book.

Step 7: It can take a day or so to be pushed live, but once it is, congrats! Your book is now available!

(Note: Storyhound will also show you things in the back-end of KDP, such as how to order Author Copies and how to check how many copies have been sold.)
